Evaluation
I feel as though my final piece supported the intention and message I wanted to portray. I found the process a little challenging, especially when deciding on gestures to portray the older character in a clear and understanding way, however after brainstorming ideas; I successfully created some actions to convey the story line in order to link back to the stimulus. Another section of the process I felt was difficult was trying to remain my facial expressions and intention in my movement the whole way through rehearsals. To allow the intention to become consistent, I filmed myself performing the piece and noticed when there was an absence of intention, then I would go over the piece and exaggerate my performance in these certain sections so that there was more of a chance of performing in the manner I planned for.(P//)
I believe that I performed well with intention and facial expressions, however I feel as though I could’ve showed the feeling of self-love with more of a warm and comforted expression as from what I can recall I continued the expression of worry and concern. If I was to perform this again, I would have had a variety in facial expressions especially when self-love is finally found in my piece. (P//)
I found that choreographic devices were extremely useful during this process because devices like repetition, accumulation and motifs were helpful in showcasing the possible forgetfulness of a person in their older years. For example I used the repetition of a sequence in one segment and then displayed a moment of confusion using my facial expressions and then continued that same sequence on the opposite side, to represent the mind changing small details and getting confused.

To conclude, I trust that my performance for my choreographic solo went well and the process was fairly straight forward, and therefore I would like to challenge myself to complete a more complex story line with more of a scientific background, for further statistics and information on the topic.
