A reflection of choreography tasks and the process

Within our first choreography lesson, we looked at six pieces of stimuli and then went into small groups to discuss what we thought of the art and photos. We made notations and analysed the stimuli for inspiration within our individual solos. Then we came together as a class to further develop our ideas and intentions on a mind map about certain pieces of stimuli, this was really interesting because there was loads of varied perspectives on the topics we had drawn from the photos and art work.(P//) We also went on to choose one piece of stimuli we liked the most and annotated it further to create ideas for our solos. I thought about movement ideas, music and style to deliver the story of the art work. For example, using inconsistent and anticlimactic music would represent the stimuli well because it’s showing the difficulty in change of a woman and how she is developing to become older.
